FULLERTON Two men were struck by a car and critically injured — deliberately police said — following a fight that spilled onto the sidewalk near a couple of nightclubs early Saturday, April 8.  A fight between at least four men started at one of the bars near the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Ash Street and then continued outside shortly after midnight Friday, said Fullerton police Lt. Mike Chlebowski. A driver in a black pick-up truck struck two of the men as they were fighting. Both victims are in critical condition at UCI Medical Center, Chlebowski said Saturday. “It looks like one of the parties involved got into a vehicle, came around the corner and struck two of the people who were still fighting,” Chlebowski said.
The driver left the area but returned to the scene about an hour later and was arrested, he said.
Police booked Humberto Hernandez-Lopez, 31, of Fullerton on charges of attempted murder and driving while intoxicated.
Police did not release the names of the victims or additional details, such as how fast the car was going when the men were struck. Nor did they say what caused the fight or name the bar.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Fullerton police detective Billy Phu at 714-738-6534. Those who wish to provide information anonymously can call the Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS or go to occrimestoppers.org.
