LAKE FOREST —  A male motorcyclist died Monday night in Lake Forest when his 2016 Yamaha collided with a Hyundai carrying three people, including a 2-year-old girl, police said.
The girl, the 30-year-old female driver of the Hyundai and a male passenger had no apparent injuries, but were taken to a local hospital as a precaution, said Lt. Dan Dwyer of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The motorcyclist, who looks to be in his late teens or early 20s, was headed northbound on Trabuco Road around 8:45 p.m. Monday, April 17, and the Hyundai was traveling southbound – trying to turn left onto Rimhurst Drive near El Toro Memorial Park – when the crash occurred, Dwyer said.
The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
It does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor, though the investigation is still in its early stages, Dwyer said.
As of 10:45 p.m., northbound Trabuco was closed from El Toro Road to Ridge Route Drive, about a quarter of a mile, he added. The department’s Major Accident Reconstruction Team was expected to be on the scene investigating for another three to four hours, which normal for a crash involving a death.
