SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON WORKER KILLED IN LANCASTER

A Southern California Edison employee was killed Friday afternoon, September 30, in Lancaster after being struck by a car near utility box.  The SCE employee was working on a power box on Avenue K west of 20th Streeet when a vehicle swerved into the median, crashing into trees before striking the worker who was pronounced dead at the scene The name of the victim, identified on as a male in his 50s, is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.  Authorities continue to investigate why the driver of a BMW  abruptly swerved into the median at high speeds.  Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased.
