Over the weekend tragedy struck quiet neighborhood in Northern Los Angeles County. At approximately 9 pm on June 25, 2016 a horrific multiple car crash claimed three fatalities, and multiple injuries causing a section of Ventura Blvd. to be shut down as police and firefighters tended to the injured and conduct an investigation. According to witnesses, the collision was caused when a white Mercedes Benz pulled out of out of a gas station near the intersection of Ventura and De Soto Ave. in Woodland Hills and collided with a Ford Mustang traveling at a very high rate of speed.
Witness accounts also speculate that the cause of the crash could be attributed to street racing. Video taken from the the gas station at the corner shows of the accident shows a horrific high speed crash. Authorities continue to investigate and are searching for another vehicle that fled the scene of the accident. Traditionally, auto accidents are based on negligence-or careless behavior causing injury and damages. Suites based on traditional negligence are limited to the actual damages of the victim including pain and suffering however they do not punish the wrongdoer for their careless behavior.
